Richard Mackenzie
London based Scottish bagpiper
Richard has been playing the pipes from the age of 8 years. Attending the Royal Caledonian Schools, he was required to play for late Queen Mother and the Queen. Indeed, when Queen Victoria became patron of the establishment in 1852, it was granted the title of the Royal Caledonian Schools. Richard also played his pipes as Pipe Major at the Royal Albert Hall, London and was featured in the film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' staring Hugh Grant. His first real job was to lead the Royal Caledonian School pipe band as Pipe Major for various events including playing regular at Harrods for Mohamed Al-Fayed.
